ABOUT THE ARTIST

Janaya Headshots-28_edited.jpg

Janaya McCallum is a mom, musician, and self-taught landscape artist from Saskatchewan, Canada. Having grown up in a family band and gone on to release several of her own albums over the years, McCallum has always thrived at the heart of her local art and music scene. Soon after having her daughter in 2022, she took up painting while she stayed home to care for their baby. Since then, she has painted over 60 pieces and has received numerous accolades for her work. McCallum is currently part of the Kyla Art Group, which discovered her after awarding her the Landscape Award at the Prince Albert Winter Festival Art Show in 2023. She was featured as a guest artist in their Fall Show that same year, where she debuted her first cohesive group of work, The Kaleidosask Collection, all of which sold. Her painting "A Night on the Land" was also awarded the People's Choice Award that same night.

McCallum's hyper-vibrant, prairie-inspired work continues to catch attention of her local community and of collectors worldwide, as her paintings have been shipped to the northern territories of Canada, to the southern states, and even across the pond to the UK.
