When I asked her to create this painting of “his favourite place” she was diligent in doing her homework to make sure she understood just how the place looked doing her own research- as the picture I supplied her with was taken at dusk and do some of the details were lost. "I grew up in Saskatchewan and loved all the Prairie paintings I saw. I really enjoyed her style and asked her to do a painting a of a little bit different scenery. I asked Janaya to paint two of my most favourite things - mountains and Northern Lights. Janaya enthusiastically welcomed the challenge and kept me engaged in her vision as she created the piece.
